Last night at dinner, Barb, Liz and I had an interesting discussion.

We’ve all opened a can of worms. We have all found ourselves in a situation that has complications, challenges, and permutations that we are unprepared for. And because there are so many of them, we quickly lose the ability to effectively navigate what’s happening. Because once the can is open, the worms go everywhere.

Here’s the thing… the can never has a label. You don’t realize that you have been handed a can of worms until AFTER you open it. Before then it just looks like a regular can. You think it’s gonna be beans or peas or whatever is in your can and then when you crack it… worms.

Having a can of worms sucks. Having a can of worms that you are unprepared for sucks even more.
