And just like that, it’s over.

A few days ago, Justin had his last day of 2nd grade. It is hard to imagine that a school year that crosses 9 months and 180 instructional days can feel quick, but somehow they always do. And we should know.

This year marks the 22nd year that we have had at least one child in school. And we still have 10 more to go.

In our two plus decades as school parents we have seen - and learned - a lot. In fact, that is probably a whole post all on its own. At this moment, though, on the cusp of another summer, only one lesson really stands out.

Calling it summer vacation is really dumb.
