Update from Winter Break
Greetings from Winter Break everyone. I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, in whichever tradition(s) are the most meaningful for you and those closest to you. I know that the holidays can be a source of great happiness and renewal, and I pray that is the case for you.
I also know that the holidays can also be the source of frustration, disappointment, fatigue and hurt. And I pray that you can find rest and peace during what can be a trying time amid a trying time.
I am sending this short update to let you know what is coming for Combat Snuggles in the new year.
Starting next Wednesday, all subscribers will be receiving a weekly update. Each update will include a brief intro about what's been happening, a Combat (one thing that has bothered me that week and makes me feel like fighting), a Snuggle (something positive that has happened that week), a photo or link or book / movie / TV recommendation, and a 5 Things essay. For those of you who read the update during the early days of the pandemic, it will look a lot like that, only come once a week instead of every day.
Over the course of the next year, I will also be rolling out several new paid only features for the newsletter. Substack allows for the creation of multiple publications under the same main title, and I will be using this to create additional content. If you are a paid subscriber, you will have the opportunity to add these additional publications. If you aren't a paid subscriber... well, you should be. :-)
One quick social media update.
I said in my last post that I would be deleting all my social media accounts. That wasn't entirely true. I have deleted all the social media accounts that caused me to have an unhealthy response. Facebook and Twitter are gone. I have, however, decided to keep Instagram. Instagram feels - to me - like one of the last good places on social media. I know that it has some challenges too, and I am not blind to them. However, the content on Insta is overwhelmingly positive (at least on my feed) and I appreciate the content controls I have there. One of my favorite things is using Instagram's Stories feature that allows me to post pictures that have a 24-hour time until they disappear. Because most of what I share on social media doesn't need to be there more than 24 hours.
So please follow me on Instagram (@combatsnuggles) if you are so inclined and watch the stories. That is where I will be sharing most of what I share on social media.
And watch this space.
The first weekly update of the new year drops next Wednesday, and most Wednesdays after. The reason you aren't getting this update on Wednesday is because tomorrow Justin turns 6!!! I know. I can't believe it either. Here's one that will blow your mind even more. On Friday, Willie turns 23. Right? Craziness.
Be well y'all. As always, thank you for subscribing. I am looking forward to the changes coming to this newsletter in the new year.
Have a good week everyone. And keep pounding the rock.
I may have to sign on to instagram......
Happy birthday Justin and Willy!
